Discussing the activation of the Jordanian-Qatari Joint Business Council
30/09/2024The Chairman of the Jordan Chamber of Commerce, Khalil Al-Haj Tawfiq, and the Chairman of the Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim Al Thani, discussed ways to activate the work and activity of the Joint Business Council between the two parties.
According to a statement by the Jordan Chamber of Commerce, the two parties agreed during the meeting on the importance of reactivating the council as soon as possible to push forward the trade and investment relations between the two countries and build on the achievements made over the past years.
Al-Haj Tawfiq stressed, during the meeting held on the sidelines of the 135th session of the Board of Directors of the Federation of Arab Chambers hosted by the capital, Doha, that the relations between the two countries are distinguished at various levels, which requires rebuilding a new form of joint trade and investment cooperation, and taking advantage of the opportunities available to both parties.
He pointed out that it was agreed to move towards activating the council at the beginning of next year, as it will play a major and important role in terms of enhancing economic cooperation between the two countries, by increasing the level of trade and investment exchange.
According to the statement, Haj Tawfiq stressed during the meeting the importance of developing applicable plans and programs through the Joint Business Council in light of the rapid economic transformations witnessed by the region and geopolitics in the world and the emergence of international alliances that have greatly affected the world. It is worth noting that the agreement to establish the council was signed in 2015 between the Jordan Chamber of Commerce and the Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry to enhance economic cooperation between institutions, business owners, bodies and unions in the two countries.
